About Us

The New England Laborers’ Labor-Management Cooperation Trust (NELLMCT) is one third of the New England Laborers’ Tri-Funds. Compromised of the New England Laborers’ Training Trust Fund (NELTTF), the New England Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund (NELHSF), and the New England Laborers’ Labor-Management Cooperation Trust, the New England Tri-Funds were developed to further increase market share in the region through each of their unique and respective ways. NELLMCT is further evidence of LIUNA’s commitment to building partnerships with its signatory contractors. As an affiliate of LECET, NELLMCT utilizes a pool of resources to put our signatory contractors in the best position to succeed and surpass their non-signatory colleagues. By addressing the needs and concerns of our contractors from a cooperative united approach, we are able to increase our market share and presence in the construction market.

The New England Laborers’ Labor-Management Cooperation Trust will meet with you throughout the process of signing with the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), and beyond, in order to understand your hopes, needs, and concerns as a contractor. Understanding your goals is the first step in ensuring that we are able to help you achieve them. Opening the lines of communication between management and labor to create a productive working environment for our union members and contractors has long been the goal of the New England Laborers’ Labor-Management Cooperation Trust (NELLMCT). Through our efforts, we have increased market share for our signatory contractors and spread the word about the quality and value of hiring a contractor who employs a union workforce.

Creating more job opportunities for our union members is achieved by working with our sister Funds to develop high-level training programs to promote our skilled workforce, as well as important health and safety programs that reduce injury and turnover on the job. The end result is a workforce that is more highly skilled and safety-conscious and can therefore give our contractors a competitive edge when bidding for jobs. This collaborative effort is at the core of NELLMCT’s ability to market our signatory contractors.

One of NELLMCT’s most valuable tools in creating that competitive edge for our signatory contractors is our Market Expansion Program (MEP). Designed by our national affiliate, the Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET), MEP is an advanced yet user friendly database program which allows the user to gain a wealth of knowledge surrounding construction projects in their region. MEP allows the user to follow a project from its planning stage through to its completion. Along with tracking the phases of a construction project, the program also allows the user to follow industry and market trends as well as search the profiles of countless regional contractors, construction managers, and developers.

We also use this information to monitor and promote legislation relative to our industry that will improve the landscape for contractors who abide by regulations that protect the public.  NELLMCT also sponsors Fair Contracting Organizations across the region who monitor job sites, bid procedures, and certified payrolls to insure that contractors who bid adhere to all appropriate state, federal wage employment, insurance and contracting laws.   This oversight offers our honest signatory contractors an added level of protection against the unscrupulous profiteer.  Over the years, NELLMCT has worked hard to insure that our signatory contractors have a level playing field in order to grow and prosper.
