Who We Are

The New England Laborers’ Labor-Management Cooperation Trust (NELLMCT) prides itself on advancing and strengthening the relationship between LIUNA and its signatory contractors in the New England Region.

Who We Are

NELLMCT works to create and provide tools and resources for our LIUNA signatory contractors in the New England Region in order to position them for success and longevity in the construction industry. It is one of the three funds that make up New England Laborers’ Tri-Funds, organizations uniquely established to assist in expanding the New England Region’s market share. NELLMCT is an affiliate of the Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET) and the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA). 2018 What Matters to Us Symposium

It is my pleasure to invite you to the 2018 What Matters to Us symposium presented by the New England Laborers’ Labor-Management Cooperation Trust. As General Secretary-Treasurer and New England Regional Manager of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), I know I am joined by all of you in my day to day mission to protect our past, embrace our today, and better our tomorrow.

Not only are we not immune to the social and political climate of today, but we find ourselves at the center of it on multiple fronts. As we have always been, we will continue to be active rather than reactive, to mobilize while others are stagnant, and to continue bringing the fight on behalf of the men and women of LIUNA and the working class.

We have identified pressing issues to discuss together that impact not only our day to day but our Union way of life. We are thankful to be joined by esteemed key presenters from within and outside of our International Union and look forward to their valuable insight.

The symposium will take place at the Rhode Island Convention Center, 1 Sabin Street, Providence RI 02903 (5th Floor, west side of building) on Thursday May 31st, 2018 and begin promptly at 9:00am. With more detailed information to follow, a tentative schedule will resemble the following:

Important To Our Members

The U.S. Supreme Court has decided to hear a case, brought forth by plaintiff Mark Janus, which aims at ending mandatory union dues for all public-sector workers. The lawsuit argues that mandatory union dues are a violation of the first amendment. While the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is the primary union named in the lawsuit, a ruling against the mandatory collection of dues by unions would have detrimental effect on all public-sector unions and workers.
